To me, photography is an artistic journey of self-understanding and of personal expression. It is the medium through which I discover people, places, objects, and the world I inhabit. Photography is not simply what I choose to do, but who I am, taking joy in the creative process and interpreting what I see. Photography can break barriers of language. For me, photography is a life style that emanates from all facets of my being.
“We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are” — Anaïs Nin
“A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know” — Diane Arbus
“I am at war with the obvious” — William Eggleston
“Photograph the world as it is. Nothing’s more interesting than reality” — Mary Ellen Mark
“It fascinates me that there is a variety of feeling about what I do. I’m not a premeditative photographer. I see a picture and I make it. If I had a chance, I’d be out shooting all the time. You don’t have to go looking for pictures. The material is generous. You go out and the pictures are staring at you” — Lee Friedlander
“When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice” — Robert Frank
